Dick enjoyed many years camping, fishing, boating and hunting with his sons, and in later years traveled often with his wife. Dick was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as a ward clerk and executive secretary.
They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 20, 1969. They married on November 14, 1959, and were parents to two sons, Richard and Kevin. Army where he served for two years as a driver (chauffeur) to military officers in Fort Ord, in Salinas, California.He met Kenna Lee Hitchcock in the spring of 1959. He grew up in Salt Lake, and graduated from South High School.
